Tonya Wellerman was born and raised in the historical region of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Her passion for cooking and fitness began at a very early age and has remained present throughout her life.

Tonya was introduced to yoga after graduating high school in 2001. In 2012 she entered her first teacher training program at Glenmore Yoga & Wellness Center in Richmond, Virginia (www.glenmoreyoga.com). She received her 200-Hour certificate in April 2013. Following completion Tonya immediately enrolled and graduated in May 2014 from Glenmore’s continued education programs Yoga, Level I & II which meet the requirements of Yoga Alliance’s 500-Hour designation. After finalizing her training’s in Richmond, Tonya relocated to Denver, Colorado in the summer of 2014.

Tonya combines her abilities as a cook and her dedication for health and wellness with her experience as a yoga teacher to create passion throughout her career and life. She is committed to teaching, learning, laughing, and growing as she encourages others to move through life mindfully. Her intention is to offer healthy alternatives that inspire graceful aging.

Tonya is grateful to honor the NamaStacy Yoga Corporation’s® mission to “pay it forward, one yogi at a time,” by sharing the vantage of yoga and all the benefits of its practice; encouraging cultivation of awareness in the mind, body, and soul. Her goal is to offer guidance that achieves balance on all levels of being by empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the philosophy and practice of yoga.
